- I traveled 10 countries, seven countries were visited for the first time.
- I took a total of 51 planes in 2016, that counts for 59,964 air miles. (Including layovers)
The year has officially come to an end and I did not only met all my travel goals, but exceeded them all. In last year’s end of review post, A Year in Review: 2015, the year I crossed 7 countries off my bucket list , I said I wanted to visit more cities in countries I’ve previously visited before rather than focusing on increasing the number of countries. Again, that was just an idea. Instead, I crossed seven countries off my bucket list this year.
Here’s a quick recap: I visited seven countries I’ve never been to, I broke my foot, I experienced what is to travel solo, got my Digital Marketing master's degree, I mastered the art of booking flights and hotel rooms for very cheap, gained ten pounds, I lost ten pounds, got a promotion at work (Yay!), learned how to effectively pack the essentials to fit in a carry-on and, most importantly, got to learn a lot about several countries around the world. What’s not to love? 2016 was a great year indeed.
2016 was “The year of Europe”, because six out of the ten countries I visited where in Europe. At the beginning of the year I decided to not depend on other people to travel and go on my first travel solo experience around Europe! It was by far the best experience of my life.
Traveling the world teaches you a million things, but nothing quite like to “learn by doing”. The more I travel, the easier it is for me to plan my next adventure.
Here’s this year recap:
I traveled to:
Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Atlanta, Georgia, USA
New York City, NY, USA
La Havana, Cuba
San Jose, Costa Rica
Countries I visited for the first time:
Plans for 2017? Of course!
(what kind of question is that!?)
Next year, my travel plans start with my friend’s Susy wedding. She’s celebrating her big day in Cartagena, Colombia. I’m excited to go to Cartagena again! I had a blast the first time, so i’m confident I’m going to have a great time once again! The following adventure entails skiing Colorado’s slopes with all my extended family in March.
I would like to go on another trip as a solo travel around Europe. This year I plan to visit:
My mom and I already planned our yearly trip. This time to the Emirates Arabs! I’m so excited to finally visit this country. It’s been on my top destinations list for a long time! 12 days in Dubai and Abu Dhabi sounds just about right.
Finally, I wrote down some potential destinations to fit into my travel plans this year:
Montenegro Bay, Jamaica
Panama City, Panama
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Santiago de Chile, Chile
We’ll see where the wind takes me to this year. The only thing that I am 100% certain about this year’s travel plans is that I’ll keep traveling as much as I did in 2016.
