Letter To All Who Think Millennials Are Crazy For Traveling

Not too long ago I stumble upon an article while surfing the web: “Self-made Millionaire: Millennials don’t travel – yet.” – Via CNBC. It only took me a few sentences to conclude that I wasn’t going to agree with any of the advice this “self-made millionaire” wrote to millennials who travel the world in their twenties. I bit my lips with anger from beginning to end. It was hard (impossible) to get this article out of my head, so I decided to write the following letter to Grant Cardone:    Dear Grant Cardone,           Thank you for taking the time to give us millennials your so-called “advice” to younger generations. From reading the article I understand that you had a very successful career and business life, congratulations hard work does pays off. But let me tell you: you are 100% wrong. (No offense, or whatever)            As a millennial I feel offended by all your suppositions on the reason behind why we travel. When you say:  “The …

The “What If” of Traveling: In Case of an Emergency

“I’m scared of flying” my friend once told me. I immediately judge her and thought “how could she be afraid of flying? Is the safest method of transportation and accidents are rare.”  Me to my friend: “You are crazy! There’s nothing to be scared of. Planes basically flight themselves nowadays.” | My friend: “I’m scared to death and this is the reason why I can’t travel.”    But now that I am older and think about all the things that can go wrong on a flight got me thinking and thought I would be fun to write down my thoughts. The “what if the plane starts to lose pressure?”: How scary. I’ve always thought about the possibility of experiencing this. I can’t imagine what would I do if the yellow air masks drop from the airplane’s ceiling.    The “what if we need to evacuate the plane?”: Every time I board a plane I made sure which is my nearest emergency exit. I don’t know why I do this, but I guess it can’t hurt.  …

Time To Take a Break From Traveling (Wait, What?)

“Hey Mariella, when is your next trip?” seems to be the most popular question I get asked lately. What if I tell you that (for the first time in four years) I have no idea what my next adventure entails? The answer is simple: I’m exhausted… Many people think traveling the world is all leisure, but truth is one has to invest a lot of time and energy to make it happen. Trip after trip after trip after trip and being constantly moving from place to place gets old. And if I continue traveling the world at this pace, I’ll eventually burnout. That’s why I’ve decided to take a three month break. Taking a break from traveling is the way to go when you feel like your inner wanderlust is not the same as it was before. It’s normal – it happens to everyone.I’m not going to lie, It’s a strange feeling not looking forward to an upcoming trip. But I do believe this break it’s going to be good for me! When I’m ready …

The Packing Hacker: For Anyone That Wants To Take Everything

“Going on a trip. Need about 4 outfits. I’ve packed 35 just in case” Being a fashion student, living in New York City, definitely shaped my personal style and made me work harder in order to put together fabulous outfits to get instagrammable pics for my posts. I love fashion as much as I love traveling, and I know hot it feels to want to take everything you own with you so you “don’t forget anything.” These past three years in fashion school have refined my ability to pull out looks for my travels. Travel officials are constantly accusing me of having life threaten accessories not suitable for air travel. For me, going through airport security is a complete nightmare. (Yes people, this happened to me.) It is possible to look A-MA-ZING without losing your style to a very un-polished parka, I promise. So here are my tips to travel with less than 23 kilos and killer outfits: 1. Plan ahead your looks Check if you have everything you need for the particular place you …
