Today I decided to blog about my visit to Chicago, The Windy City! A quick trip through memory lane from my travels in 2013.
Four years ago, before deciding to travel the world full-time, I visited my dearest friend Cristi Romero. Like myself at the time, she was attending Loyola University in Chicago at the time.
When you are young the best advice I can give to a college student is to visit ALL your friends in college. I used to have a blast and met a lot of interesting people that today I can call friends.
That being said, my friend Cristi made sure I had an epic experience during my short 3-day visit! 🙂
I remember being so excited for my weekend getaway. Mostly because I was going to visit a new city for the first time and also two of our friends from High School got to join us as well.
Imagine six girls sleeping in a college dorm... There were suitcases and mattresses all over the apartment, it was a mess but we made it work haha
During the day we spent time exploring the outdoors, such as the Millennium Park, the Navy Pier, stroll across the city's famous Magnificent Mile and much more.
Of course, we made sure to visit all the top sights. The Willis Tower, a 110-story skyscraper featuring expansive views of Chicago from its 103rd-story Skydeck, is something you don't want to miss! The panoramic views of the city from the top of the tower is breathtaking. Also, here you can stand in a transparent glass. (I was terrified lol)
The rest of our days our activities revolve around food, sweet treats and Chicago's best nightlife. When in the Windy City, make sure to have Garrets Popcorn - shops around the city with the best gourmet popcorn in the US. There's always a line that goes all the way to the sidewalk just outside the restaurant but don't let it fool you, it goes by quick.
A trip to Chicago is not complete until you try the Giordano's famous stuffed deep dish pizza. If you are a pizza lover, this will make your heart skip a beat!
Finally, make sure to visit Chicago's Shedd's Aquarium, a State-of-the-art indoor aquarium, famous for its variety of habitats & views of Lake Michigan.
It's been four years since my first and last visit. That's why I am visiting Chicago once again this upcoming Summer! I am so excited to visit my friends and get to know the city more in depth.
Until next trip,

The art of saying "Yes!" can take you far away. Many people pass on opportunities for many reasons, one of them being fear. Through my life I've encounter many people that forget to live the present for something that might not even happen in the future. If you are constantly waiting for the right time to finally do something, like fulfill your life dream, you are going to spend most of your life waiting.
My name is Mariella and I created this blog as a source of inspiration for others to believe they can live the life they always pictured. The secret? Believe you can and take action. The world awaits!
