The Cliffs of Moher: What To Expect

The Cliffs of Moher - a must visit when in Ireland! Something you definitely don't want to miss.

There are multiple travel agencies that offer a day tour to the Cliffs of Moher from Dublin. All are basically the same: you get onto a bus for four hours as you cross to the other side of the country and give you the right amount of time to explore the cliffs on your own. After the tour is over, they take you for lunch at a restaurant in a nearby town. After lunch, they take you to discover hidden gems in rural Ireland.

What To Expect.

  • The weather in Ireland is bipolar. There could be a clear blue sky and five minutes later it could be pouring rain with a very cloudy sky.  That being said, be prepared. Bring everything you think you might need for this outdoor activity, such as: an umbrella, a scarf, gloves, a hair tie, sunglasses etc.
  • Closer to the Cliffs, the strong winds get out of control. Be safe! But most importantly, be prepared to face strong winds.

Let's Talk About The Views.

What a view! Its unbelievable how beautiful the Cliffs of Moher are. Hike to the very top of the trail for the best scenery.

Please make sure you follow the trail within the marked area. There are restrictions for a reason. Avoid overlooking the Cliffs from the very edge. Let's face it: it's extremely dangerous!!

If you have time to spare, make sure you go inside the visitor center and visit the exhibition about the Cliffs Of Moher. Here you can learn its history and some interesting facts.

Find a moment to completely disconnect from the world and mesmerize the view. For me it was like my eyes were seeing but my mind couldn't believe it was real. Let mother nature run the show!

Until next trip,

The art of saying "Yes!" can take you far away. Many people pass on opportunities for many reasons, one of them being fear. Through my life I've encounter many people that forget to live the present for something that might not even happen in the future. If you are constantly waiting for the right time to finally do something, like fulfill your life dream, you are going to spend most of your life waiting.

My name is Mariella and I created this blog as a source of inspiration for others to believe they can live the life they always pictured. The secret? Believe you can and take action. The world awaits!

I have a long bucket list of travel items but this is probably one of the top 3! The Cliffs of Moher are so breathtaking. Your photos showcase why I’ve always wanted to go!

  5. The Cliffs of Moher are so beautiful! We got very lucky and had bright blue skies on the day that we visited–still can’t believe we got quite that lucky! Of course, it rained during most of the rest of our time in Ireland lol.

  6. I still need to visit Ireland but it looks so green and beautiful. I will make sure I add the Cliffs of Moher to my itinerary. I can imagine how windy it is out there. You had a nice clear day to photograph them, stunning shots.

  7. What helpful info! Good to know that the weather can be bipolar – sounds like SF! For being so popular I rarely see anyone post a pic here with someone else in it. Why is that?! Seems impossible.
