Every single detail in this amazing architectonical construction is the true definition of beauty. I’ve never seen a building more beautiful than this one! When in Dubai, this is a must-visit.


Things to know prior to your visit:

  • You need to cover! If you are female, you need to be completely cover: arms, legs and head. If you don’t have nothing to cover up with, no problem. You can rent a burka outside the Mosque.

  • Once you are dress appropriately to enter the Mosque, keep in mind that you are inside a temple. Respect and following the Mosque rules are a must!

  • Make sure you visit early in the morning to avoid crowds.

  • Do not plan your visit on a Friday - The Mosque is closed for tourists.

  • The design of the mosque was done by a Syrian architect named Yousef Abdelky.

  • Construction cost‎ a total of 2 billion dirhams.

  • The Sheikh Zayed Mosque has a capacity‎ of over 41,000 visitors all at once. Every Friday, more than 41,000 people visit the Mosque.

  • To construct this masterpiece, artisans and materials were recruited and gathered from all over the world to make this amazing building happen.

  • The design of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque has been inspired by Persian, Mughal, and the Alexandrian Mosque of Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi Mosque in Egypt.

  • Once you enter inside the temple, make sure to take a moment to appreciate the largest carpet made by Iran’s Carpet Company. Designed by Iranian artist Ali Khaliqi.

  • It was voted the world's second favorite landmark by TripAdvisor for two consecutive years.

    I lived in Abu Dhabi for 3 years and really this place is my favorite. Also visiting this mosque in evening is very beautiful due to special lights. I love the pillars, intricate work on walls and a big chandelier of this place. Sheikh Zayed mosque is really a gem of UAE.

    The White Mosque… wow! That is all I can say about how grand and awe-inspiring this piece of architecture is. I really love the all-white (well, mostly) color of it because it makes it so elegant and luxurious! I can’t believe how expensive it is to build!
