What’s Left of Beng Mealea Ruined Temple

Mesmerizing, isn’t? Located in the Angkor Wat complex, the ruins from this unrestored temple have created a beautiful backdrop. Angkor Wat Highlights

Did you know that Cambodia has 4,000 ancient temples? And that if you want to visit them all you’ll have to stay in Cambodia for at least two and a half years? I had the opportunity to visit a few of Cambodia’s ancient temples, but the one that really stands out is the Angkor Wat. The Angkor Wat is the biggest religious complex in the world and it’s considered one of the wonders of the ancient world. Quick history: This beautiful building took approximately 30 to 35 years to build in the first half of the 12th century (113-5BC) by King Suryavarman II. The construction¬† involved 300,000 workers (Aka slaves) and 6000 elephants, and yet it was still not fully completed.
